When will I receive my PDUs? Will my PDP subscription be enough to get the PDUs needed to credential?
After completing the exam in the end of each PDP, you will get an e-mail containing the validation code for claiming your PDUs. You will also find a summary of your PDUs in your account profile. In order to maintain your PMP using PDPs only, you need to pass 10 exams each year (more precisely 30 exams in three years). Should you fail to do this, you need to fill the void using other methods (for example seminars, classroom courses, online learning, live events and volunteer activities).
What if I fail the exam?
The exam is a quiz in the end of each PDP. You can try the quiz as many times as you need to pass. You need to pass 10 exams each year (more precisely 30 exams in three years). Should you fail to do this, you need to fill the void using other methods (for example seminars, classroom courses, online learning, live events and volunteer activities).
How many PDUs do I need to maintain my PMP or PgMP?
You need 60 PDUs over a three year cycle for both the PMP and the PgMP credential (for more information please see PMI.org – Maintain Your Credential). Passing each exam in the end of the PDPs will give you a total of 72 PDUs. The Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) for PMP and PgMP starts the day you pass your credential examination and ends three full years later.
I hold both the PMP and the PgMP credential. How many PDUs do I need?
If you hold both the PMP and the PgMP credential, you an align your CCR cycles (Continuing Certification Requirements) and earn and report a total of 60 PDUs (not 120) during the aligned three year cycle.
Are my PDUs automatically received?
No, you are always responsible for claiming your PDUs at PMI (for more information please see PMI.org – Maintain Your Credential)
How long time do I have to complete each PDP?
As long as you subscribe to the PDP, you can go back and complete previous unfinished PDPs as well as re-do them if you so wish
How long will I be able to access previous PDPs? What happens if I temporarily close my subscription, eg between different employments?
As long as your subscription is active you have access to all your previous PDPs. You can also temporarily deactivate your account for a maximum of 3 months. Upon reactivation, all your PDPs will be available, but you will not have access to the ones you missed during the deactivation period. If you deactivate your account for more than three moths, your PDPs will no longer be accessible.
Will all the PDPs cover knowledge areas that are valid for claiming PDUs?
Yes.
Can I use the material from the PDPs in my professional work as a PM? As a subscriber, am I free to use all the material in the PDP?
The purpose of the PDPs is to maintain or even boost your skills as a PM. To achieve this, you will do an assignment each month. Some of these assignments are to be done within your projects. However, the material is protected by copyright law, and may not be used without permission from us. Therefore, you may not copy or otherwise reproduce and distribute eg the Knowledge Pack. For more information please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
Who can subscribe to PDP?
Basically everyonewho have access to a computer with internet access (see system requirements). However, the PDP is intended for PMPs and PgMPs who needs PDUs to maintain their credential. If you are not in the categories above a subscription will enhance your skills alone, but not give you PDUs.
Can my employer pay for my PDP subscription?
Of course. By doing so, your employer shows an interest in you keeping your knowledge up to date. The PDP account will be yours, however. Should you quit your employment you will have to notify us if you wish to keep your account. Because once the payment stops your account will be deactivated.
