” Everybody needs feedback, and it’s a heck of a lot cheaper than paying a trainer.- Doug Lowenstein, former president of ESA
We normally focus on the outcome of our projects. The stuff on the bottom line. Not too strange, though, given that “a project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result” (yes, we all remember this from the PMBOK, don’t we?)
In the project, we do ongoing work. is might be repetitive; we do more or less the same thing over and over. If we do this the right way, chances are our project will succeed. Also, if we behave the right way, chances are our projects will succeed. If we do not, we have a problem. So striving for the optimal way of working is important, and must be continuous throughout our project.
This PDP will give us the tools necessary for this. We call it Feedback.
The PDP starts with an e-learning module, that will take approximately 15 minutes, and gives us an overview on the topic. Next, we deepen our knowledge by examining the matter further in the knowledge pack – that could either be read on-line or downloaded as a hard copy.
After this, we are skilled enough to carry out the assignment. After passing your exam, you will be able to claim your PDU points, as well as use the knowledge to further boost your PM skills!
Goal
After completing the PDP you will have the knowledge and skill to deliver effective feedback to strengthen or change people’s behaviour.
Objectives
After completing this training...
- You are able to formulate feedback for greater impact
- You know the difference between recognition and reward ad when they are best used
- Should the feedback fail, you are able to analyse it using the feedback steps – an easy to use model for assessing the impact of feedback
